275-70-16s fit?

This is on a stock 2wd 2002 F150. I think I'd prefer the wider tire with slightly lower profile since I use it for towing once a month...

Thanks.

Yes, I've seen a few people run 285/75-16's on stock 4x2's.

With the stock 16" wheels?

Wouldn't the 285/75/16s make it look a little "overstuffed"?

It will probably fit but might look kind of big. I'm putting 265/70/16 on my 2002 2wd. I went with Yokahoma ATS.

I was actually looking at those tires right now. How do they perform? Have you used them off road at all? My stock Michelins have gotten me stuck more often than I'd like to count in ridiculously lame situations (like when I had to cross over 4' of barely damp grass towing a trailer) and I'd like something I won't have to worry about as much for minor offroading.

Yep, a 285/75-16 does look too stuffed, in my opion, on a stock 4x2.

the guys at costco wouldnt mount 285s on my leveled 2wd 97 so he tried to sell me the same 275/70s cause he said they would fit, i wanted the extra height so i went with 265/75 and it fills the fenderwells nicely, i also think a 285 would be too big now that ive seen my 265s
