How big can I go?

I don't know much about tires but I was wondering how big of a tire could I put on my 2004 F150XLT with 17" rims. The rims are OEM for an Expedition. It is a 4X2 that I have put a 2.5 inch leveling kit on. I was thinking about putting 285/70/17 but if I could put something bigger on it without rubbing I would like to know what size. I have done a search but it seems like I can only find people with 4x4's or FX4's. Both of those I think sit a little higher than a 4x2 but I could be wrong. I am new to this site and this is the first thing I have posted. Thanks for your help.

i think they will fit.....with the leveling kit. at the most you mite have to trim some of the plastic. ive got a 2wd with 3 inch body and have 285 75 16 and they fit fine.

I'd go with a 285/70-17(33x11.50), 295/70-17 (34x12.00) or a 305/65-17 (33x12.50).
