04 f150 rough idle

Hello guys, I have been having a major issue with my 04 f150... I had the cam phasers replaced about three weeks ago and everything was fine then all of a sudden my truck starts idling very rough and knocking then will occasionally stall. The CEL came on and I scanned it and it showed cam positioning sensor over retarded bank 2 so I replaced the VCT solenoid on bank 2 and everything seemed fine, then once again it started idling rough and sounds like a diesel. I can shut it off and crank it right back and it will run fine for about 5 mins then do it again. It only happens at operating temperature if that helps..... Where do I begin? Thanks in advance for your help!!

I had my phasers and solenoids changed a month ago...about 1,300 miles...

My truck is running real rough also...It ran good til last monday...the dealer hooked it up and said that I have low compression in cylinders 6,7 &8...need new engine...I'm at 176k miles...It's not throwing any codes...for giggles, I disconnected the VCT solenoids and drove it...It seems to run a little better with them disconnected... have re-connected them...My truck is showing lean, and rich conditions on the fuel trims...

I have not had an actual compression test done yet...still driving it...I'm having a hard time swallowing the idea of putting an engine in it...plus, I'm broke!

I hope you find an inexpensive resolution!

I changed the oil to a little heavier weight and it cleared it up instantly for a couple of days. On my way home this evening it acted up once again so I just buried the throttle and it cleared it up once again and ran fine all the way home. Could this be a fuel issue. If not, what the heck is going on???

Low oil pressure due to sludge or excessive engine wear.

If that's the case, what actions can be taken at this point?
