First, if you have not had the recall performed, pop the hood and unplug the switch on the front of the master cylinder ASAP!!! Without checking the schematics, the odds are that the switch is leaking, and it shorted blowing the fuse. To prevent spontaneous combustion of the truck, unplug it and get the work done. It takes all of 10 minutes at any Ford dealership.

done

I just had mine done and the paper work took longer. All they do is install a fuseable link between the switch and the harness.

It is called the Speed Control Disconnect switch. It is a normally closed switch that opens when the pressure in the master cylinder exceeds a certain threhold that is normally reached during braking. It is a redundant (secondary) safety feature intended to ensure the speed control disengages when the brakes are applied by interrupting power to the spped control module.

When the switch fails and remains open, the speed control has no power as yours is doing.

If you haven't had the recall performed yet, let the dealer know the switch is bad and they will likely replace it along with adding the safety fuse harness.
