I ordered a 2012 F150 FX4 Tuxedo Black, Ecoboost, FX appearance package, FX luxury package. Does anyone regret getting the Ecoboost? if so why. Anyone the loves the Ecoboost feel free to join in. I should get my truck on 7/23... I hope.

No regrets, but don't expect miracles with MPG's. You'll get Hemi and Tundra mileage if your remotely aggressive with the skinny pedal.

I don't regret it one bit. The engine is great and gas mileage is outstanding. Now my package choice is a different matter. I wish I waited for the 2012 (hind sight and all) I rally like the FX package and my black belt is marring the beige interior. If I would have purchased the 2012 FX instead of the 2011 Lariat I would have all of the toys I currently do, with an appearance package I like better. Did I mention I'm not into chrome?

Regret isn't a word that's been in my vocabulary since I bought my EB. My experience has been that fuel mileage is about 10% better in town and 20% better on the highway as comapred to the 4.6/5.4 generation of trucks. That's in a truck that's much heavier and much more powerful. My '11 4x4 Screw is 600 lbs heavier and has something like 130more horsepower and 140 more ft-lbs than the old '97 4.6 I came out of. If you compare the EB to the 5.0, I think you'll find that fuel economy is close (especially on the highway). Power (seat of the pants) will also be close, but the EB will probably have a slight edge in both areas. For me, the big difference was that the EB makes peak power (particularly torque) at much lower rpm than the 5.0. That just made more sense to me for a 5500 lb truck. The good news is that there is no bad choice in F150 engines, even the 3.7 is putting out 300 hp. The only thing I'd change on my truck (if I had a do-over) would be to opt for the base 3.15 axle vice the 3.55 that I have. The EB doesn't need the extra gearing to get it going. If you tow, the 3.55 or 3.73 might make sense.

Talking No Regrets!

I have a 2012 Tuxedo BLK FX4 with about 1300 mile on it. No regrets, the gas milage isnt bad either if you keep your foot out of the tank. Looking to do bilstien 5100's to level out the front so we will see how the MPG's fair out from there.

got a white lariat chrome package screw with eco and 3.73. great truck. only problem was corrosion on one running board which a dealer replaced in a half hour. have 14K on it and have not towed yet. on the hiway it can get 22 mpg at 55 mph. go over that and she drops off. about 17.5 at 7o mph. best riding vehicle i have ever been in. it is quick. havent put it up against my mustang gt but i think it might be able to take it.

No regrets here either. Ecoboost has been a very strong motor and for my travels has been quite pretty easy on the gasoline. On its worst day it does about what my 7.3L Powerstroke did while not burning up more expensive fuel.

How the Hell am I going to tow a trailer big enough to put 7ppl in it now? Clown car pop up tent out of the question!! lol

You don't need to post in every thread you can find about how much your truck can tow. You will get the right answer in the thread you started when we have all the info requested.

I had to take my boost in for the TSB for the PCM reflash and air deflector, as well as they replaced the left bank cat. So far so good, only 800 miles on the truck. I get 19.5mpg highway between 68-70 mph.

I have absolutely no regrets. I've had my truck since June, and love it more everyday.

16,000 miles. Great power for towing; great fuel mileage (20+ average for over 2,000 miles). Not a hint of any problem of any kind. Love it.

Still love it.. Even more yesterday when a boy racer in those turbo kia optimas thought he was gonna beat me to a lane merger ( 3 lanes to 2). I didn't even go into 4wd. I just did a mild 2wd boosted launch and walked him badly. I put about 4 trucks on him then tapped the brakes to let him know I was done and coasted back to the speed limit. He stayed behind me the whole time even when we had another chance to line up at the next light. Note: this was sunday nobody around in a industrial area.
