Okay so the other night i was tuggin a tree out of the woods. Then all of a sudden my 0/D light started flashing, Shut my truck off then had no reverse when i went to leave. Any ideas on what the problem could be? All other gears are just fine. And One more question would a older tranny from like a 99-03 f150 or expediton bolt up and work on my 5.4?

 

You need to get the codes scanned - you need a scanner that can read Ford tranny codes.

An older tranny wouldn't work, you have a 4R75E which didn't come out till 04.

 

Thanks for your reply. How difficult is it to rebuild these transmissons? Im just leaning toward doing it on my own and just fixing what is broke. I have general knowledge on the process.,

 

It's not that difficult of a trans to rebuild. You will need a GOOD manual to do it. I recommend one from www.atsg.com

Most likely, either the low/reverse band broke or the weld on the sun shell failed.
