Transmission Leak

Good evening. I just bought a 95 F-150 4x4 5.0 with about 160K miles and the transmission leaks. I just changed the trans pan gasket and it still drips off the crossmember. I read that it could be the input seal. I am curious why on my truck there is a gasket between the trans and transfer case but I can't seem to find a new one on either auto zone or advance website. Is there supposed to be what looks like a cardboard gasket there and how difficult is changing the input seal? Thanks in advance.

I'm not a transmission expert but if it is the front seal leaking, you have to remove the transmission or the engine to replace it I believe.

Instead of just randomly replacing things, why not clean it all off and see where the leak is?

Well, being my first old truck and kinda clueless that sounds like a great idea. I changed the gasket because that's what the guy I bought it from said it was and since the pan was covered in fluid it made sense to me. Now a few days later the pan is still dry so I do think that was part of it. Thanks for the advice.
