1984 tranny swap ?'s

So I'm looking to buy an 84 f150 4x4 with the 300ci motor and a manual trans, problem is I'm not a big fan of stick shifts in trucks. So my question is will a c6 auto install ok? and if so can the same c6 i install be able to later mate up with a winsor based v8?

I'm a big fan of the 300ci motor but I know the c6 is a power robber, so if I can't get good cheap HP out of the 300 then I will want to drop in a strong v8 maybe 351 crate.

You must be getting the truck for a good deal to think about doing all this??
I’m not sure on the bell housing pattern to a 351 from the IL6. But if you already have both the bad *** c-6 and a 351 sitting there why not just slap them both in at the same time? For sure you would have issues with the motor mounts, drive shaft lengths. Good luck on this and take your time doing it.

The small block Ford and I6 have the same bolt pattern.
