swaybar diameter, dealer mystified

hi all,

my 2001,lariat,4x4,supercrew,offroad pkg, tow pkg.

i am told the swaybar diameter should be one of 25 or 27 mm.

i measure mine as 30mm( as does the dealer).

can anyone tell me how my truck could get a larger swaybar?

i added offroad & tow pkg, either of them have an option in 2001?

anyone??

From what I've been told all 97-03 trucks have same front sway bar, the only truck that got a heavier (larger) front bar was the 97-02 Expedition 4x4

Stuff happens.

In late 1967 my Dad ordered a new 1968 Satelite Sport Wagon with 383, 4bbl, dual exhaust, factory tach in place of clock, and all the normal stuff like AC / etc. He also ordered both a trailer tow package and heavy duty suspension.

The car arrived the week before Christmas 1967, Dad couldn't wait until Jan 1 to take it so he paid an extra year's tax on it .... Dad had Multiple Myeloma too ...... and I lost my Dad September 1969. I was 15 when he passed away.

In 1971 "The Wagon" needed brakes and I had done a couple brake jobs, I had my Dad's best buddies to get me through a jam if I got hung up, so I bought the premium grade Raybestos brake shoes in the largest size listed in the books for a Satelite of any sort, they were 10" diameter X 2-1/2" wide drum shoes.

Get the front on stands, both wheels off, drum looked awful big to be 10"x2-1/2" .... so I measured it .... 11" diameter X 3" wide. To get the correct size brake shoes for the front of "The Wagon" the parts man at Lynchburg Battery & Ignition had to go to brake listings for the bigger Fury line and then the ones that fit "The Wagon" were listed as being for "police" cars.

"The Wagon" always did have a great set of stoppers on it! Came in handy a couple times, was easy to hold at the threshold of lockup even from 100 to a stop. "The Wagon" also had those short OEM mufflers like on RRs and stuff, wished I could get my '07 FX4 to sound like "The Wagon" ......

I just looked, Rock Auto lists them "now" in 2016 ..... but Raybestos didn't "then" in the early '70s?
