lowering shackle question

lowering shackle question

i installed a set djm shackles, 2 inches and after installing them the truck didnt change height. the bolts are not overtighten and i had them loose dropped the truck off the jack then tighten them drove around and the is still a 2in difference. i have a 97 f150, im puzzled guys any help would be greatful.

were they longer than the previous ones??

That's crazy. Something doesn't sound right. Are you sure there weren't lowering shackles on there already?

my 99 has drop shackles. it only lowered it about 3/4 or 1 inch due to my shocks. i have overload shocks on mine.

they were longer than the stock shackles, about 2 inches, i dont have a towing package and shocks havent been changed on it. i did put a hitch on, i measured from center of the wheel hub bottom of the fender front and back, the rear is exactly still 2 inches, it has me baffled, im attending UTI its a well known auto technical school. what is the angle from bottom mounting hole to the top mounting hole, it sits right now about 1 o'clock

take it to one of the suspesnsion instructors, have him take a look and show him the old shackles maybe he can figure it out...

if you added longer shackles, and it didn't adjust the height, either you didn't go to the top hole or there's more to this story

im goin to, would how much gas i have affect the height different even more than before with the new shackles?

That depends all on if the gas is from Taco Bell or Exxon.

i retook the measurements and its lowered one inch
