1988 F150, From what I can tell, either there is a release in the switch itself, (either a button or a 1/8" hole) where the whole **** and shaft comes out, or there is a release inside the base of the ****. Any expertise would be appreciated ....
There is a release just behing the ****, in the notch area of the ****. The best way is to use a small screwdriver or a hook to push the release towards the **** while pulling the **** off.
Thanks for the reply, I found a small button on the switch, I finally got the whole thing to release the **** and the shaft. It wasn't a straight foward release though, I had to work with it a bit.
To use the button, pull the **** all the way out, then press the button, then pull the **** again. But it's easier & better to remove the **** so you can turn the headlights off.
Ha!! I was wondering if someone would chime in. Well you got that right, I am a happily married guy with a child. We all know it's just technical lingo for a switch.
