back fire on idle

a newbie here

i have a liitle problem with backfiring on my truck at idle. i have long tube headers with glasspacks with true duals. it seems to only backfire on the drivers side. it only does it on idle and seems to not do it when the tank is full. but i might just notice it then. i have no other mods on my 89 5.0L with a manual. thanks for the help in advance.

I don't know how right this is, but try your timing. I don't know if it affects it at idle, but from what I have heard, puttign high flow exhaust on can change what your timing needs to be, but I have only heard of that affecting it when letting off the gas from a high idle. I would get under the hood and try a few degrees to either side, but wait until someone that knows what they are talking about can confirm or deny what I am telling you.

I would also have to say that your timing is incorrect. You should check it.
