notched cross pin for ring and pinion

i am finally able to purchase new gears for my truck, and i just want to make sure i have everything when it comes time to do the swap. i am going with 4.88's and cant seem to find anywhere to purchased the required nothched cross pin for these gears. Also, does the front and rear require the same pin or or the two pins different. Is there anything that i should be aware of before doing this swap, and are there any other parts that i need besides the notched cross pin? thanks for the help

we can sell you the modified pin, but typically grinding a tooth dowsn on the ring geaar is the way we go. the modified crosspin is weaker tha a full one. www.eastcoastgearsupply.com call us if you want a pin.

ECGS is right. I've heard of the notched pins breaking on the 8.8s. It's easy enough to just grind a couple teeth, plus you'll save the $30+ on each axle. If you do decide to buy them, they both use the same one.

you only need to grind one tooth if you position the ring gear correctly.
