Regearing the 8.8" IFS???

...on a 2001. Looks to me like all you have to do is unbolt the diff. from the cross member support and unbolt each axle from the CV joint and the whole diff will drop out from the bottom, without even having to remove the wheels at all. Am I wrong? If so, please explain the procedure.

Second, I got a Ford Racing rear complete master install kit which included the axle shaft bearings and seals, but the IFS master install kits (Yukon) cost a lot more and do not include the axle shaft bearings, etc. Is there a reason for this? What kit do I need and where can I find it? Thanks!!!

You are right you can drop the front diff out without taking the wheels off. I dropped mine out and put it back in easily that way. I had Yukon Gears put in mine but the rear is whining already. I'm having them replaced with Precision Gears. The master Install Kit I got was about 100.00 for the front and 100.00 for the rear. Had all the bearings and was made by yukon
