A correction mentioned above as far as the frame.

The frame is taller, and a thicker gauge metal too....

i didnt really have any specific kind of lift in mind, i jus fingered it mite be easier to find out if a 97' f150 lift would do the job, seeing how hard it is to find aftermarket parts for the f250 light duty.

When it comes to the 7700 you do have a some rims to pick from I found 2 different rims and they were 16” and in a 18” I went with the eagle and the other was American racing both offered the style in a 16”and 18”

Mine is a PA body lift - Performance Accessories. Ebay would be a great place to start looking

Tire Size

EDIT: please ignore... I'm guessing I should look under the "Tires Wheels" forum.

Hey fellas,

I have a '02 F150 7700 w/ 245/75R16's on it. What is the max tire size I can fit? I don't want to put a lift kit on the truck, just want to give a bit more height and fill up the wheel wells.

Please drop me some knowledge!

Thanks,
J.

So, I am real new to this site, Just bought a 2001 f150 4X4 xl 7700 supercab today, 127K on it. I want to know, does it have the 4r100 transmission and does it have a limited slip diff? How can I find this out? Thanks, EJ

Read the door jamb sticker. If the axle code begins with a letter, it's LSD. Example - B6 is a 3.73 LSD, 26 is an open 3.73. If the last number is other than 6, then you have something other than 3.73's. The tranny code is E for a 4R100, U for a 4R70W.

According to your post, It does have the 3.73 limited slip rear and the 4r100 transmission. Awesome. My last truck was an 85 toyota with an open rear and I was going to use an aussie locker on it. Now that I have a limited slip, I aint gonna worry about it. EJ

With 127k, I'd probably change the diff fluids and do a full tranny drain/fill on it. An 01 should have a torque converter drain plug so you don't have to use a flush machine. Tranny takes Mercon V, rear diff takes 75W140 full synthetic and 8 oz (2 bottles) of friction modifier, and the front diff takes 75W90, regular or synthetic.

Yeah, I think I'll get on that pronto, say, do you know what the maintenance schedule is for this truck for ransmission? The last time the tranny was serviced was like 60K according to the carfax. I need to get it done right off, but just didnt know what the reccomended schedule was. I am going to get a manual here pretty quick. EJ

I believe the schedule calls for 30k with severe service and 150k for "normal" service. Every 60k is reasonable.

Yeah, I called in and they said that it would be about 200 bucks for the local ford dealer to use the "flush machine". He said with this machine there is no need to change the filter because it cleans the filter in the process. Sounds like garbage but I am used to doing my own transmission fluid on my other cars. IS that flush thing OK? I saw somewhere where a fellow saud to drain the torque convertor as well whilst changing tranny fluid, I havent ever done this but I am not a mechanic either. Is draining the fluid good enough? Or does this need to be done? The fluid in the torque convertor is the same as the tranny if I understand things properly.
