Question What to get a Grand Prix GTP in the 12's?

Just a question for anyone knowledgeable about Grand Prix GTP's.
Got a local boy whose friends SWEAR he runs about a 12 flat in his GTP. I have heard a lot about the fact hes dumped a ton into mods. But no aftermarket blower as far as I know, or juice either. At least that is what I have been told. Everyone says he is really closed-mouth about his mods. What would it take for a GTP to run low 12's or a 12 flat with a stock blower & no juice. Possible? Just looking for the truth, of if it all talk. I do like the cars by the way..just having trouble seeing a 12 flat run from what I have heard of these. Thanx all...

My neighbor has one and I've seen a bunch at the track. Only a couple of them have even touched the 12's. The problem is that there is not a lot of aftermarket parts for them. After you do the exhaust, chip, air filter, and pulley...there's not much more available without porting the stock heads, which I don't think gains that much on them.

I would throw the

Although I have seen stranger cars run quicker...

I'm throwing the BS flag too. The stock blower on the GTP is really small and I don't think you could get enough volume out of it to go 12's. I've heard that with the mods yysenhimer listed they are about as fast as a stock Mustang GT. BUT, also like he said, I've heard of stranger things.

Dropping it off a quarter-mile high cliff ought to get it into the high 7s.

Are you talking about Zoomers car from zz performance?

If so he has cams, headers, his m-90 is completely ported and polished and anything else that can be done to it has.

I saw him run a 12.09 on a dew covered track at almost midnight when they were closing [Mid Michigan Motorplex] and heard he ran 11.90 a week before.
The 12.09 run was done after rushing to get his slicks on before they closed, after driving an hour from Grand Rapids to Stanton,so there was not much cool down.

Seeing is believing.

His website is www.zzperformance.com

Welll that mook is most likely using juice as Zoomer ran 12.80-90 last season without the juice and 11.90 with a 75 shot.

He was supposedly the quickest daily driven gtp in the country then and i am sure he has done more for this season.

This guy actually fabricates mods for gtp's, and the mook is fabricating something else

ok first off.... i am 14 and me and my grandpa have a supercharged Buick Regal for a daily driver and part time racecar.
If you dont know it shares the same motor(L67) as the grandprix. and if you go to my site listed(webshots site) and then go to the "west coast gathering" folder there are pictures of the motors of 2 12 second GTP's. In the regal we are currently doing 14.3 with very little mods and a 14.5 with the other regal with only a 3.5 pulley and an SLP intake. As for the 12 second GTP you guys are talking about... it might not be a 12 sec flat car(it very well could be) but most of the 12 and lower cars have moddifed superchargers.... but mid 12's very reachable with the stock supercharger as it has been done with a few Regals.

By the way: the buick has had a lot of mods done since then and we are looking to poke into the 12's with the MAP intercooler.

Here are a few pictures of the set up for those who aren't familuar with the L67 Setup.

Current Setup on the 1999 GSE:
