f-150 vs f-250

New here, and I'm kinda debating between 2 used pickups, pretty well equipped the same. Both are year 2000 supercab 4x4 models. The f-150 is a 4.6L reg box with about 83000 miles, asking $12,000 and the f-250 is 5.4L long box with 116000 miles asking $14000. I live in a salt belt area (Canada, actually), if that makes any diff. Assuming most things equal and considering I'll likely be keeping whichever one I get, if either, for as many years as I can, which is likely to be a better deal? I'll mostly be using the truck to haul around the skidoo/quad and going to the cabin (not to rough a road, but to bad for a car)to start, but eventually in the next few years I'm gonna be getting more into offroading and will likely be towing at least one jeep or similar. Any opinions anyone would like to offer?

Well the superduty is gonna be a tougher truck, prolly due for ball joints though. Not the cheapest thing.

They are gonna both move at the same speed with those motors, edge to the superduty for towing. Your biggest factor I see with similar prices is do you want a short or long box?

The '97/'98 F150s only have three doors while that superduty is gonna have four. Handier if that matters to ya.

If it's a dealer talk those prices down.

$14000 for a gas powered Superduty is a tad high, though it is low mileage. $12000 CAD for a F150 is very out to lunch. I see them in the auto trader all day long for around $5000-$7000 for that year.

Having said that, I would choose the Superduty. Particularly if you plan on occasionally hauling your ski-doo.

If the long box is fine with you, go for the F-250, start out offering $9000 and settle for $11000. That is what I would do.

Oh, I know the prices are crazy for the year of truck. But of course that's the asking price, I'd expect it to go down a nice bit especially since I'll be going in with cash. Dealers always love that. Thanks for the replies guys
