I never though about this but my truck came with an aluminum driveshaft. Do all of the new style F150(s) come with aluminum ds?

No, a good percentage of them are steel. The aluminum one looks better, but it seems to come on some XLTs, some Lariats, some XLs, some 4X4s, etc. There was quite an amusing discussion on this, but of course it wasn't in the "computer" thread

 

Really? That's interesting. Did anyone figure out why some have the aluminum ds and some don't?<p>BTW, the driveshafts are probably designed on computers. Does that qualify to get this in this section? :-)

 

Bill, let's hope it wasn't the same computer that designed our doors I don't think we solved the ds mystery. Might be a good topic to resurrect. I'll try to find it.
