0-60 times?
Im running the same size tire (or really close to it) with a 5.4 screw, and the stock 3.55 gears and get roughly the same millage. i figured the 4.10 would have helped more with the city driving. do you drive it hard, or does the gear not make a difference?
I do know that bone stock I got 9mpg city and 15mpg hwy though. I do get on it getting into traffic also, she sees 5000+ rpm pretty regularly, though I'm trying a tank of under 3000rpm to see what happens to my mpg. Last few tanks have been almost 14mpg lol

I just cant believe that. Now, I have not done a run when the temps were below 95* here but I am pretty damn sure my 07 5.4L Screw with 3.73 is not getting to 60 in that time. 8.5 would be "fast" in my book. I have a built transmission and no other mods (I don't count exhaust or a K&N as mods). My shifts are super quick. There is no spinning of the wheels when I launch (yea for traction control/torque management) nothing.....
Now if I am running 50 and I drop it, I get to 70+ uber quick. But this 0-60 crap you guys are claiming, I don't know about. Maybe with a tuner you can bust an 8 or a 7.75. I mean I am riding on the 18s that came with the truck. I threw some bigger Michelins on the rims but nothing egregious. Keep in mind I am here on the coast where its relatively flat and humid. Someone please attempt to enlighten me as to how you are pulling these times off.....

some people go by what their tuner says instead of actually clocking it. my best time while clocking it with my 08 V6 was 9.58 seconds with only my intake. i am guessing i could get 9.2 to 9.3 at my best. now i have my custom tuned SCT X3 and i think i could hit around 8.5seconds now.

My best 0-60 was clocked in Orlando at the strip and I was running slicks with 4:30 gears and a ton of mods on a built 4.6 with a D1sc Procharger. I did 0-60 in 3.4 sec producing about 500 rwhp.
93 F150 4,700lb, Flare Side, 351W, 2.1l KB Flowzilla and goodies, Tweecer tuned engine, stock tranny (E4OD), 31X10.5's, and 3.55's at 5,400' It runs a 7.8sec. 0-60

My go faster parts are working. The 0-60 is now down .3 from 7.8 to 7.5 seconds with tranny install. (This is at 5,400' so should be more like 7sec. at sea level)

I still need to rebuild the rear end with posi and alloy axles then I will get a better launch. It's wheel spin now or I go slower off the line. I will do a single traction bar if it's hopping after the posi install.

Old Thread New Experience
Since my last post here complaining about 0-60 times I have installed and tweaked my Diablo predator 87 performance tune. My recent runs have me at 0-60 right at 7.2/7.3. That's with an 1/8th of a tank and 40 PSI in the tires (recently had to haul some heavy stuff for the Mrs.). Ford did leave a lot on the table with the motor, however the most recent firmware do not allow the user to remove the torque management settings without a custom tune. So I do feel the engine pulling timing up to about 20 MPH. This easily accounts for 1-2 tenths of a second of the sprint. If anything this experience has furthered the notion that I need to nut up and get a blower.
I have a 2011 F150 supercab 6.5 foot bed with a 3.7L. The stock was average was about 9.7s and with just an 87 tune as the only modification it shaved off almost a second and was averaged about 8.5s. Is this good for this truck i havent found much out there and mind you I had just filled up and I have a 36 gal tank.
Just ran a 0-60 with my scangauge II. I wanted to see what it would be with the new rubber... a disappointing 8.4 (same as before) on SCT economy 87 tune, gotts mod and Magnaflow SI/DO.

7.1sec. 0-60 Was 7.5sec. with a bitchin' Punisher built tranny with Stallion High stall converter and 7lbs of boost.
What changed? In order of completion.
Eliminated tire spin with:
31X10.5 changed to 33X12.5
3.53 gearing changed to 4.11 with Posi-traction
9lbs of boost now vs 7lbs of boost (smaller pulley)
Better tune:
Torque converter locked in 2nd and 3rd.
Fine tuned shift points, timing, and fuel.
This is at the same elevation, about 5,350', 65 degrees and dry air today.

Interesting that you locked the converter up so soon. Usually you save that till the very end till mid way through 3rd to benefit from the torque multiplication. Of course depending on the converter sometimes you can't due to heat.
I read that the torque multiplication was pretty much done after first gear. That made sense to me as this engine is hitting second above stall speed. Perhaps if it had a higher stall? This one isn't that high, stalls at about 2,200RPM. It also hits 60 before shifting to 3rd, but I like to pull up to speed locked in third on the interstate.
Suppose I could try it both ways and see if there is a difference.
