I have to admit I have been lurking for quite some time and well I figured its time that I finally post. I enjoy reading this forum because there isnt any micky mouse bs or bashing on someone else opinion.

Now I have read alot on hear about the leveling kits with 35's and honestly I am still confused, so now lets beat this dead horse into the ground.

I have a 2004 f150 King Ranch 4X4 with 18" factory rims. I'd like to run a set of firestone destination m/t 325/65R18. According to Firestone the specks are 34.4 inches overall diameter, 10.1 inches wide. I looking at the Rough Country 2.5 inch kit. Will this combo work? If not what leveling kit do i need to run this tire.

IMO The 2.5 will have plenty of room for those tires. My tires are 34.80 tall x 12.80 wide and they fit with a 2.5" leveling kit and i have a lower offset than stock wheels. i know there are allot of people running 35's on 18" stockers that can shed some light but I'm pretty sure you will be fine with that set up

 

The problem you have is a 325/65-18 (35x13.00) is too wide for the OEM 7.5 inc wide wheels. A 35x12.50-18 (305/70-18) is pushing it.

 

+1 The width of those tires on the factory wheel means it could prematurely wear by being forced onto such a narrow wheel for that particular tire. So you might want to recheck the website because 10..1" wide does not sound right.


Also, you might also consider an Auto Spring leveling kit. Nothing wrong with HBS but many more users of AS with nothing bad to say over the other guys's kits.

 

IMHO you could go somewhere in between 33" and 35". My Toyo MT's are 285-75-17 on 17" wheels with 4.5" of backspace and fill the well up pretty decent. That make them just a bit over 34" tall. You can fit the 35" tires but it probably requires trimming or a lift, and it really eats into your MPG. If none of these things matter to you then go for it because after all, it's your truck and more important, it's your money.[IMG][/IMG]

Not a negative toward your comment, but to get more info out there on HBS, I've had an HBS 2.5 on my 06 for about a year now with no issues and I love it. My tires are wearing well without a corrective post-install alignment. Good product I think.

 

What about on a 2 wheel drive??? Will 35's still fit???

where do you live? maybe someone can help you out with a shop for good prices on parts.

 

You will need ~3.5" of lift since a 2wd sits an inch lower.

Get Bilstein 5100s set at 1" and a 2.5" spacer and you'll be the same as a 4x4 and clear 35s.

 

I have 35s with no rubbing or trimming with a 2" Bilstein level
