If you rush it - or are too aggressive you could have holograms. If you take your time, have a little patience, and follow up with a softer pad - you shouldn't have problems. Each manufacturer and model are different. Some are known for soft clear coats, some for hard.
I can't get in by the license plate or my back hatch of my TBSS because I dont have a small enough pad. It'd be nice to have smaller pads when working in tighter areas (usually the fronts or rears of vehicles).

I have used a pc, flex and rotary. I found the pc to be the most forgiving yet it did take far more time to remove imperfections. The flex was a little more aggressive yet by no means unruly. The flex was way faster (at least 3x) then the pc and left just as good of a shine if not better. I have used a rotary and they can get unruly and hoop around if your not careful. They can also cut and polish much faster then anything else.
If you are just getting started I would go with the pc. If you want to spend the money feel free to get the flex you will not be sorry.

Got my Flex today. Used the 05 GT Mustang as the test subject.
1. Washed the car down.
2. Clayed the GT to clean surface.
3. Washed again to remove detailing spray.
4. Polished with the Flex and a yellow pad/Pro Polish swirl remover. Started with a 4.5 setting and brought it up to 6 for the finish. Took out several nasty scratches with 3 runs over the same area.
I have a Milwaukee Rotary polisher and the Flex was easier to use and gave the same results without the over splatter that rotary creates. It is faster than a rotary because it holds the polish down on the paint. I also noticed I used 1/4 the amount of polish using the flex than the Milwaukee. The forced rotation of the polishing head is flawless. The finish looked like glass. No holograms/swirls. I will take some photos tomorrow.
This tool is a 10 out of 10. The mustang has never looked better. I can't wait to tackle the 68 Chevelle. If you want pro results with no excuses this is the tool.
