Rocks are nice but require some lift to clear, aswell as quite a bit of maitnance. And have they been debraked and was wheel brakes installed on all corners if so then 2,000 for them is a good deal, if they are just the ROCKs with the pinion brake then 1k is a good deal. Another issue to think about by running rocks, your gearing will be 6.72:1 thats the only ratio in 2.5TON rockwells. They are also heavy. you will want to run at least a 44" tire if not bigger just do to gearing and weight
I think twin 9" would be a pretty good swap. But then again you have ALOT of power.
have you looked into the OLDER ford D60's King Pin High Pinion axles. they are gonna be expensive. Id run the Ford Front D60 (8x6.5 bolt pattern) and a GM 14 bolt (normally fairly cheap) If you can find an old bolt pattern D60 so it matches the 14 bolt.
