thanks - i thought there was a reason i hadn't heard of it being done on a truck before
You can contact Troyer performance about getting a quality valve body kit for your truck.
Please watch those who may try to sell you something in the background. Make sure you do a search on their screen name to look at their track history with these particular things you are talking about instead of listening to a sales pitch. LOL

You may also want to avoid the advice of those who send you to another vendor only because they themselves build said parts for that vendor. Read some posts by the person it all makes sense.
I knew there was a reason I hadn't been on here in a while. Everytime I post someone follows me with sales pitch and useless, irrelevant BS.

So I am guessing that the shoe fit and you must have sent a PM before I posted that. LOL

Back on topic.
What you were told about doing this mod on trucks is only partially accurate. It honestly depends on the truck and what valve body it has. Without seeing it I couldn't give you an accurate answer though as to whether it would work for you or not.
Just be careful with those 'do it yourself' kits that are being sold. If you choose to buy something please do your homework and do it the right way. A mistake trying to save a few bucks could cost you your transmission and a lot of headache.
Choose wisely.

03-04 became very similar to the car design. 05+ you'll find all of the holes are already larger than the specs. 02 is possible to have the right configuration, but highly unlikely. 00-01 trucks you will have huge problems if you try.

I send him something completely free at my expense to try, you call him giving him a load of BS about how you are an expert after 1 year of reading articles on tccoa and he sends you my product for you to follow me around the internet running your mouth about. It shows what both of you are made of. I wait for the day when he finds out like everyone else that you are out to get whatever you can from everyone, when they have nothing to offer you stab them in the back. Much like the way you used me and now continuously ruin perfectly good threads with no purpose but to put another one of your knives in my back. I don't even sell the kits anymore I prefer to modify 06+ valvebodies, they are the best. No I did not PM the author of this thread. I don't send anywhere near the amoutn of PM's you think I do. In 3 years or more I have 27 PM's on this forum. Half of those are jibberish from you and moderators talking about you. Your conspiracy theories still stink.

Look,
I know how you love to argue and spread lies to stir up trouble. It is your life and always haas been. That is a good part of why I completely removed myself from hanging around with you.
But, it always happens. You draw people into an argument by spewing out some outright lie about them and they have to respond. It's shameful and it sucks for everyone.
And you did it again so we need to get our facts straight here.
Yes, you sent Troyer some parts in attempt to get him to sell your stuff and that's where the truth to your little story ends. Mike looked at those parts and had questions about what the changes that were made actually did and how they would benefit his customers, then there were his concerns about quality of the parts, or lack thereof as verified elsewhere on this site by other members, and the terribly non-professional packaging. He called you and asked you specific questions about the changes 'you' had made to the plates and you couldn't answer him. You had no idea what had been done because you hadn't done it. You said that you would have to look at it and call him back, but you never did. Then, after waiting for a good amount of time, Mike called me and I helped him out with his questions. I gave him real answers to explain what the things that were changed did once I saw what was changed and then I explained that this might not actually be the best setup for him and explained why. I didn't have to get off the phone and go try and read up on what was what so that I could maybe sound like I knew what I was talking about. I honestly did know what I was talking about and he knew it. No time to think about it or need to consult anything.
That is when he knew you didn't have a clue as to what you were doing.
If anyone doubts this, you can feel free to call Mike and ask him. His number is 540-965-7126. He is a great guy and will talk your ear off. He really cares about his products and his customers and therefore only sells the best from the best. He wants to know about the products that he sells so that he has confidence in both the product and the place that it came from. He won't sell what he doesn't believe in, as Alan here well knows obviously.
It might be hard to get him on the phone though because he is a VERY busy man, but it's worth the time if you have it.
But I will give you another chance. You said that the 06 and newer valve body is a better setup and that you use those now, why? Why is it better for a real transmission builder? What is different and tell us how that makes it better? Amaze us with your immense knowledge.
Better be able to prove it before you say it though cause I will point out when the BS starts and ends and have the parts on hand to show examples.
Sorry for the intrusion in your thread aggieford.

Here is the aforementioned thread where a member here actually compared the parts and made his own observations.
https://www.f150online.com/forums/tr...plate-kit.html
Around post 39 is where the end user took a plate from Factory Tech and one that 'originated' with dirtyd0g, compared them and explained what he saw.

The whole thread is long, but it's an emlightening read.

Thanks to all who responded and helped out - right now i think i am just going to buy a tuner and see if I am satisfied with those shifts, and if I crave a little more, I will then get a shift kit and look more in depth into it.
I'm sorry I stirred up some issues - that wasnt my goal when I opened the thread (I hope yall can get something worked out!)
anyways, once again, thanks

Aggieford, i was on my phone last night and didnt realize you are somewhat local to me. If you want some help doing the Jmod send me an email/pm.
Jmod is much safer for the transmission then boosting shift pressures via a tuner.
