Thanks a lot guys. I've still got some thinking to do...Still torn on the 14" or 18" call...Especially w/the 3" set-up. Can't find many good sound clips...So hard to tell. I just don't want to have it rattle my head when I'm towing at 70mph with o/d off.....
it shouldnt rattle your head with either of those muffs. the 14'' will just sound better

Another ?.

Is there any difference between the polished and natural mufflers except for that of the finish?

My fiance works at advanced auto parts and can get me the 14" 3" si/so POLISHED Magnaflow for less then Summit sells the Natural finish. On Summit they are the same specs etc...But figured I'd ask. I don't think this will matter to the installer etc??? Thanks!

Eric

The polished finish is meerly just that, it just looks better. Same thing as natural but its polished t-304.

Thanks guys! Didn't figure it was anything different besides the finish. I'm going to have her order it for me! One piece to the puzzle will at least be in place!

UPDATE:
The muffler is in my posession. Of course had a couple other things steal my pennies from the exhaust jar since the start of the thread. But I've changed my mind again too.

I'm thinking of exiting the exhaust in front of the rear tire. From searching/reading/looking at pics it looks like the pipe can be tucked up above the bottom of the frame rail where the frame goes up over the axle? I'm thinking a 45° tip turned so that the long point of the 45° runs parellel with the side of the truck, giving it a smooth flush look.

Anyone have any quams about this set-up? It'll be 'custom' and cheaper of course . The stainless tip should look nice next to my step-bars as well...Will it be louder with a shorter tail pipe?

Also going to go 3", from all the reading it seems 50-50 are still up in the air about HP and Torq? I don't want to lose Torq...I don't think I will with this set-up right?

i like the side exit look which is why i have it on mine. the 45's are nice and i think give it a clean look. 3" would be the biggest i would go and thats the perfect size for me to be able to have a good balance of sound and power.

i think your heading in the right direction.

Another UPDATE:

Exhaust is getting installed next week. Thursday July 2nd!

I'm pumped!

Still need a tip. I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. But the shop assured me that he had something that I'd like. He said he stocks like 15 3" ID tips so we should be able to work something out.

I'm thinking of something like this, but single tip of course.

Thanks for the pic Tarajerame

He said he's done them before, and knows what I want. Its also going to be cheap. He figures with buying the tip, installing the muffler and 3" stainless, it'll be under 150.00. I will post pics when I get it done!

A pic to prove that its done.

Drove 300 miles up north after getting it done and I couldn't be happier. Can't believe how nice it sounds. Thanks to all for your help with this. Especially Darren. More pics to come Sunday/Monday!

One thing, any of you guys ever feel your tire after driving for say 2 hours? It wasn't 'hot' but it was warmer then the other side. I doubt its anything to be concerned over???
