Standing the Ford Ranger and F-150 Next to Each Other

Four years ago, Ford killed the American Ranger. Not the National Parks guy, the truck. But all around the rest of the world, Ford introduced a new model that was far more attractive, and probably, more appropriate for a majority of truck jobs here in the States. Some people complained, some people shrugged, and there was a common line people kept bringing up that it was too similar to the Ford F-150. But is it really?

Despite all this discussion about the two trucks and how they would or wouldn’t fit together in the same lineup, not many people have actually sat the two next to each other to be judged. But recently, as pointed out by Truck Yeah!, a New Zealand reader of theirs recently saw a pretty close in-person comparison of the two with a new DeWalt Ranger parked right next to an F-150 Raptor. Obviously, the Raptor sits a little differently and has some extra doowhickies, but the length is different. This is how they compare:

As the dimensions show, the F-150 is significantly longer and has a wider wheelbase, but it doesn’t necessarily look like that to the plain eye. This exact one is also taller because off-road badassery. What do you think, worth having both?
