Is King Ranch the ‘Nicest’ Ford F-150?

Ford King Ranch

Critics love the 2017 edition as much as we do. But, ‘nicest’ truck? We have a more fitting adjective: totally badass!

The vehicle enthusiast YouTube channel Auto Vlog doesn’t hesitate in the slightest when calling the 2017 King Ranch trim-level Ford F-150 “the nicest 150 that you can buy today” in its latest video review. Although it’s not the highest trim level, the host notes that it is the one with “the most character, and most style, and most history.” We completely agree with that!

The AV review provides plenty of eye-candy, too, exploring the 2017 King Ranch from bumper to bumper, highlighting the badging on the tailgate, LED front and rear lights, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, and power-deployed running boards. Even the tailgate can be lowered with a click on your key fob!

The “gorgeous” interior with Mesa antique leather seats and panoramic moonroof is what sets apart the King Ranch trim level of the F-150, says AV. Not only does the King Ranch come with every feature you can get in an F-150, but it also boasts awesome additional options for this model. These include a heated steering wheel, massaging seats, a surround-view camera and automated parallel parking.

This 2017 model features the second-generation EcoBoost with 10-speed automatic transmission co-developed with General Motors. More powerful than last year’s motor with an extra 50 torque, the latest model practically pulls you down the road as you’ll see in the video’s road test.

Ford partnered with King Ranch in 1999 and came out with the first King Ranch trim level in 2001. Established in 1853 and located in Texas, the massive King Ranch is an actual ranch the size of Rhode Island–over 825,000 acres! Over the past 160 years, King Ranch led some of the first cattle drives, developed the Santa Cruz breed of cattle, and produced champion thoroughbreds—all under its iconic Running W brand. A brand you will find stamped on the “nicest” Ford F-150 you can buy.
