When it comes to living in The Lone Star State, it seems to be next to impossible to not own a truck. This isn’t really due to weather, since few areas get snow and four-wheel-drive isn’t needed for the most part, but appears to be more of the culture of the region more than anything else.
When it comes to solid trucks, there really is nothing better than a Ford. Not only are they reliable, but they can handle a large workload, double well as a daily driver or an off-road play toy, and are relatively cheap and easy to work on.
When you’re a mechanic with a truck, there’s a lot that can happen. Having that technical and mechanical insight into exactly how all the systems within the vehicle work definitely help when wrenching on a rig, and make for much easier going than it would be for one who had little to no knowledge of any of it and were learning along the way.
