Anyone have any details or know if the heavy payload pkg will still be available on the 2009's. I wanting to make sure they are still going to be offering the 3k+ payload pkg and I woud like to know what the drivetrain will consist of in 2009. Will it get a 6 speed tranny and would there be a higher speed rear diff available for 09'. I have plans to be phasing out some of our 3/4 PSD trucks for these heavy halfs this fall. I still need at least a 2400 lbs payload rating to handel our 500# liftgates and about 1500 pounds of product. A normal 1500 pound rated half ton just won't cut it. It limits my payload to around 700#s.

 

I'm not too sure... if I were you I'd ask Ford. Especially if you plan on purchasing them through the Ford Fleet Program.

 

I called Ford Fleet today, and they said that I would have access to the order guide at the same time they would on ford fleet website. Order bank opens the 16th of May, so I am sure they will have the order guide out by then. Right now with incentives the way they are, I can buy GMC 3/4 with 6.0's and 6 speed autos that get about the same mileage as the 08' Heavy half fords, and I can actually buy the GMC a little cheaper than the heavy 08' half fords. I am in hopes, that the pkg is availble on the 09s F150s with the 6 speed tranny, that should improve the opperating cost of the F150 vs the 3/4 GMC to the point that the F150 is going to be the way to go for what we need, provided I can get the payload rating I need. The 08 order bank on regualar cabs is closed for GMC and Ford, so I guess another couple weeks won't really matter.
