idiots and their trucks

I was working with a new landscape contractor who recently hired a couple of young wet behind the ears ( young, dumb and full of ...... )

He let these kids drive to the loam pile in a brand spanking new white F-150 XL reg cab long box and told them to load up the truck.

Now the first thing I told beavis and but head was how great ( suercassam ) the p235 70 17 hancook tires are and not to over load the truck...

They come back with their first load in record time and the bumper was scraping on the ground, yup, took the easy way out and had a bob cat load them up...

while they took their time unloading and Wheeling out the loam I tended to my own affairs....

Than I got a call from the frantic landscaper asking me if I could help out beavis and but head....they blew out the side walls on booth rear tires... and the loam was falling over the sides of the box...

Now I'm not a Ford guy, ( I used to be ) but I really hate to see dumb ***'s throw common sense out the window and ruin othier peoples trucks/cars/tools....

Seems like they need a good kick in the a$$. Most kids these days dont want to work and will always look for the easy way out. Deduct the tires from there pay and see if they do that again. They probably will end up quitting anyway.

My question is why would you not have the right truck for the job? And second of all, if it's a work truck, it's going to have to get some "dings" in it sometime, might as well do it on the first day as well as the fifth day of work and then feel worse. Also, why wouldn't you have someone supervise the "newbs" so they would fully know how to load the truck? Why send "newbs" with a brand new truck? I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but it's just my point of view.

1/2 to truck. 1/2 ton load, on P rated tires, good luck, your asking to buy the Farm, 2 guys, 15 to 20 min can load up a 1/2 ton with screened loam, but ya come back five min later? Bob cat....work dings are going to happen, but out right abuse ?.

I park the new truck in the back forty at home depot, I put red pylons in front of the truck on work sites and I'm getting close to rolling out the red carpet every time I get out of my truck, I even have driving slippers so I don't get the pedals muddy and seat covers over my seat covers...muddy boats go into a plastic garbage bag.. that goes into a plastic garbage bag....crazy I don't drink or eat in the truck any more....some sob will scratch it, fact of life... I was never this meticulous with my previous Fords

I have an 05 XL 4 x 4 I use for landscaping. I brought the truck knowing I would be working out of it and expected the normal scratches and dings. Then it happened, I drove it a couple weeks and felt stirring in my loins I have never felt with another vehicle. Now, everything getting hauled goes in the trailer. The bed is reserved for the golf clubs and such. I have modded the truck to make it more comfortable and appealing to my eyes. One year on the job and no dings and only the scratches a daily driver would see. I gets washed one to two times a week and waxed every other month. I love this truck. I have not yet made an appointment to seek help for this.

yup...while the fords are doing the dirty work my reg cab 2500 SLT 4x4 dodge is sitting pretty and grinning....my previous 04 F-150 reg cab 8 ft box worked hauling every thing and any thing related to ressidental construction, plywood, truss's, joist's, 16 ft 2x12, cribbing forms, sand, bags of concreat, gravel, you name it, I built a false floor in the box and wood side rails, the box in the truck looks brand new, ( no spary in liner ) aside from scratchs ( run over some rebar ) and rock chips, the 04 did awsome once I put some quality 10 ply tires on the truck. .

my 3/4 ton Ram only has a extra 2 springs per side over the F-150, In previous post's I have posted comments on my F-150 and I don't miss it at all, the new dodge has not had a speck of dust on it from day one or hauled any thing, the trailer I bought hauls all the dirty stuff..

I don't blame you.I don't volunteer my truck for hauling or towing anything either.
It's only got 2700 miles and I'm not ready to use it for work yet.
Good Luck with yours.
