Question Expedition rear disc to F-150?

Will the Expedition rear discs, calipers and calipers mount swap over to my 97 F-150? If so, ballpark price?

A better way to convert may be to use the disc brakes off of a '99 and later F-150.

fin2lean,
I thought of doing that. The problem was the $1250.00 the salvage yard wanted. I just bought a used 9" yesterday for $50.00 and decided to build it up and make it race ready.

You say race ready, whatcha going to do with your truck? If you want to put the 9in. in it remember that the bolt patterns are different than what is on there now. Before you spend much time on this 9in. you may want to look for a Lincoln Versaille rear end from the early to mid eighties( think thats the right years), they came with disc brakes. Check out some swap meets in your area, and see if you can find one of these.

A 9 inch rear end from a Versailes may not work because its too narrow. Its practically a bolt in for early Mustangs which are much narrower than an F150. A better option might be to locate a rearend from a full size Lincoln from the '70s such as a Town Car or Mark V. Many of them had rear disks. Also the mid '70s LTDs somtimes did also. Measure your truck's rear end and do some measuring at the salvage yard. The axles and rotors can probably be redrilled by a machine shop and new studs installed to match your lug pattern. You will also have to have someone setup the spring perches to match what's on the F150. This is a MAJOR project. Don't forget you will need a different master cylinder and proportioning valve. Have you checked with a dealer to price the parts necessary to convert your rear end from drum to disk?
