Red face 2000 new tires spedo help please

I know this is been answered too many times but the truck is a 2000 f150 the tires are 255/70/16 on it now I would like to put 265/70/16 on it ,,,, will I notice a big change in the speed
and will this mess up the od I dont want to rack up more miles than I all ready do and will I be able to tow with no problem
I dont want to spend big money getting the thing reprogramed if
it is off a little the rear is a 355 thanks

Compare the tires on this, put in your gearing also to see how it would be affected.

I did the same thing. Which engine do you have?
My 4.2l lost some torque when I went up to the 32 inch tires. You won't notice it much if you have the 5.4l engine. You will be approx. 5mph fast at 60mph (meaning you're actually going 65 when the speedo says 60).
Towing will be effected as the larger tires do reduce the amount of torque available.
I like the torque loss because it keeps me from spinning them in the mud and keeps me from getting speeding tickets.

ya I have the 4.6 small v8 with the 355 rear gears
I f the speed is off like that I dont mind dude at tire shop was getting all upset thanks
