New Lift! New Tires?
New Lift! New Tires?
So I just put a nice new 3" body lift on my pickup and naturally I would like to get bigger tires when the time comes. Before my new lift, there was only room for 31s. Anyway, when I steer all the way to the left or all the way to the right, I notice the tires already get pretty close to the frame. It looks as though I couldn't go more than maybe an extra inch before the tires would scrape the frame when I crank the wheel. Is there something I'm missing? I know trucks can have bigger tires so what's the secret? I would hate to put Offsets on a 4x4 machine.
What kind of truck do you have? Is it a 4x4? What year is it?
My 99 f150 4x4 came stock with 265s which is a 31.6" tire if I remember correctly. THere are members here with 33s on and no lift without any problems. I have a 3" body lift and fit in 35s. I also know of one or two people with 36s on there but they don't have the stock size rim like I do.

If you have a 4x4 and dont plan on changing wheels i would use a 35x12.50 if youre gonna put a wider wheel i wou ld go with a 33x12.50.. you dont want anything rubbing or possibly damaging your under body
