Lately I've noticed a strange sound that seems to be coming from the rear brakes. When braking, and just before the truck completely stops, I often hear a medium pitched whine/rubbing/moaning. I don't hear anything during the entire braking, just right before the truck stops. I had the brakes checked this summer/fall. Dealer cleaned out dust, etc. and said everything was fine. There isn't any problem with the truck stopping. It's just this recent noise development. Any ideas???

 

i recently did an all pad change on my truck, i installed Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads on all 4 corners. great break pads. now i have the same sound as u do in the rear end. and only when i break as u described. i have chosen to ignore the noise. as long as the truck stops to be honest i really dont care.. i guess i will have to break down and look at the rear end again one day......just wanted u to know that your not the only one hearing the lil sounds from the back or the truck.
