Can some tell me why I get more road noise after changing out may Rims and tires from stock 17" with BFgoodrich 275/60/17 to 20" MKW with Toyo 305/50/20

 

I've noticed that larger foot print "performance" tires always seem to generate more road noise. We have a rough stretch of freeway in Spokane that always makes a lot of noise. It's much worse with wider tires. Interestingly enough, I've also noticed that my last two trucks, both 4x4 with AT tires are much quieter on that stretch than any of my wife's last 3 cars.
