2000L wheels on a 98xlt

Hi All,
I've used the search but couldn't find any answers so maybe someone here can help. I can get my hands on a set of new 2000 lightning wheels but wanted to make sure they would fit my truck first. I have a '98 f150 xlt that came with the 16" wheels. I realize the stud pattern changed, but was wondering if they would still work. If so, what would I need to do as far as lugs, or anything else that changed Thanks

Thumbs up

yes they will the trims are hubcentric don't knwo how to realy spell it but all it means is that they are centered on the hub not the studs. but there will be some play between the studs and rims because the rims are for 14mm studs and u i belive have the 12mm. i have done this same mod on my truck but i'm just a bit consernded with the gap between the studs and wheel.....hope this helps

Ray,

You have my email on this issue.

oomilkman,

"hubcentric"? Good to know. I put 17' oem 14 mm buzzsaw directional rims that have been triple chrome plated on my 99' with 12 mm studs. I have the same concern. A member by the name of Country also had the same concern. So much so, that he has made spacers to take up the space. Country has drawings of this issue in his gallery. He can also make you some spacers as well.

iron horse-

I meant hub centric, but anyway yes i saw his post and i'm thinking about making them myself also. My buddy owns a shop and could easly make them with a few measurements. Depending on how much he is asking for them......later

Gentlemen,
its been awhile. Are the wheels stiill ok?

I'm just putting on 2000 rims on my 1999 and will try and find lug nuts with greater seats. I'm not sure spacers will work as the wheel is seated on the hub anyway and would only shear the studs if the bolts weren't tight. The wheel would shear 14mm bolts too if the nut weren't tight anyway!

Wolly
