Question Brake Pad Lining Thickness

Just a simple question, folks...

After 31K miles, the remaining brake pad thickness on my front pads is 6/32" and the rears have 7/32" left on them. I have nothing to gauge this amount on. Am I half-way through my pads? 90%? 25%? What?!?

So here's my question: What's the usable thickness of the OEM pads on a 2000 F-150 2WD Supercab XLT? How about those Titanium pads from JC Whitney? I know pad wear depends on many variables, but what's our starting point?

Thanks in advance.

from manual

Brake pads - 3 mm (0.125 in) min
Brake rotor - 24.7 mm (0.927 in) min
Hope that helps...

Thanks, AB.

I should've looked in the manual myself. Duh. I guess when I put in new pads, I'll measure the thickness so I have a good starting point.

BTW, is the min for brake rotors the pad contact area or the rotor thickness? I'm guessing pad contact area, since I can't believe these rotors are nearly an inch think!!!

Thanks again.

Minimum thickness of the rotor if it needs to be turned. The rotors are thick (but not solid). They have like a honey comb venting chanels between the rotor surfaces.
