Question breaks lock in rear

i have 1996 F-150 4x4 and the left rear tire tightens itself too much and you can smell the pad burning i was manually loosening it weekly and finnaly took off the drum and found the new pad to be worn out and crack so i replaced all the springs and shoes and drums and it still is happening. it isnt the ebrake cable and i checked the cylinder and doesnt seem to be the problem either. but for some reason when the brakes warm up it locks up and the brake lines arent pinched either. im going to replace the cylinders any way

thanks for any help or insight

If your axle seal or wheel cylinder leaks into the drums it will coat the linings of the brake shoes. The fluid will cause the linings to swell and lockup.

If you pull off the drums you should see if any fluid is leaking inside. Replace the culprit causing the leak and clean all the hardware and linings with brake parts cleaner then readjust.

if any one has a similar problems it could be the rear brake cylinders i replaced them and the old ones were jammed with brake dust and would not release
