Question Any cheap way to upgrade to 14mm studs?

I'm going to acquire some 20" silver Lightning rims, but from what I've heard they won't work due to the lugs on my truck being too small. Can I just bolt them on and not worry about it? I know I would probably need to get the hubs redrilled to make it right, or swap them out for a newer hubs. The rear axles I'm not too worried about, since I'll be swapping gears about the same time. I can swap them out then. The factory 16" lug holes were oversized to begin with, so should I even go through the trouble?? Thanks for any advice.,,,,98

They are on a 99 that doesn't get driven much right now, so are there any concerns I should have? Also, the wheels will have no lug nuts when I get them, what type should I use on them????? Thanks!

I don't know about the lugs but I'd sure love to see some pics. I looked at getting a set of the silver 99-00 20'' rims but practicality won out. Damn exchange didn't help either :-(

Thumbs up

I did this mock up with Photodeluxe, they may be slightly larger than the actual rims would be, but not by too much Check it out, doing this sold me on them!!,,,,98

Hey Screamer sorry it has taken so long to reply a help message but hey better late than never right? Yes the lugs are different but you can still use them with out any problems. Just use your stock lugs if they are cone shped or buy some new chrome ones for your truck they work just fine I had 01 L wheels on my truck before I go my 20's and I put about 6k miles on them without any problems. Good luck to you if you haven't got them already.

Thanks INSINER8,

I didn't think it would be too much of a hassle as long as I had the right style of lug nuts for the wheels. Of course this is turning out to be a pretty lean year It doesn't look like I'll be able to get anything for the truck that costs that much. I was all ready to do seats and wheels this year.,,,,98

Wouldn't doubt it if sitting while driving would damage the AC unit..
