Rear Diff Ratio ????

I recently traded into a used 2000 F150 4x4. How can you tell what the ratio is in the rear differential as the original owner could not be contacted to get information on what ratio the truck was optioned with. Thanks for any info..........

Smile Check Your Rear

There should be a tag on your rear diff attached to one of the bolts. It will have numbers on it that will tell you the gear ratio. I'm sure one of these other guys know what every other number means on the tag. That is why I read all these forums for the great amount of knowledge to be had. Thanks guys.

Thumbs up

Look on the drivers side door jamb. Should be a sticker with various info. Look for "Axle", then there will be a code like "H9" or "19". Report back with that code and someone will be able to tell you what it is.

Just FYI, H9 is a 3.55 Limited Slip and 19 is 3.55 Non LS. Don't recall the others, but you could have 3.08, 3.31 or even a 3.73 if you're lucky!
