Question chrome care tips

I asked this under general care and got no help, so I will try it here.

What do you guys use to clean chrome wheels and keep them looking good? Is there any product I should specifically use or avoid?

Also how about the tire dressing? If it runs onto the wheel, will it mess the finish up? What do you all use?

Zaino works wonders on chrome as well as paint. I wax my wheels with it whenever I do my paint.

Hmmm.. some soap and a lot of water??

I always rewash my rims after using tire dressing. Petroleum distillate products just doesn't sound very safe..

Romeo-

Auto parts stores carry a myraid of chrome and wheel cleaners. Put the correct amount of tire dressing on, spraying it on a sponge, and you won't have any on your wheels. I use Black Magic; it's cheap, available, effective, and not full of water.

I used Meguiare's Gold Class Endurance High Gloss Tire Gel on my Tires. I put it on my tires last Saturday, and have washed my truck twice since then. And cleaned the tires good too. And it's still on there shining today. It say's on the bottle that this stuff is supposed to last for weeks, not days! And it stops your tires from turning brown. Best dang tire stuff I ever used!

have to agree

I haveto agree with wolverine. Meguir's High Endurance is some good stuff. This is what I use all of the time. It outlasts usually two car washes.

For chrome and billet aluminum, I favor using Eagle One Never Dull. Easy on...and easy off...no hard buffing necessary. I do all 6 wheels (2 for drag radials), grill, tips, bumpers and blower and only need one terry towel for wipe off with easy rubbing. (about 7 minutes each wheel) This is NOT a paid political announcement . I've been using a commercial detail shop tire product applied with a paint brush...no name..it's blue, smells nice and highly flammable, so I can't be of much help there.

Alright, I will share my secret weapon for shining up my chrome....Use this information wisely Hehehe, just kidding....Seriously though, I use a product that works fantastic on my chrome and my pseudo chrome (F250LD with the plastic chrome wheel faces). It goes on easy, wipes off easy and leaves a protective film on it, the film works so well, brake dust has trouble sticking to it. Alot of you probably have it your homes already.....What is it you ask, a product called Gel Gloss. It is used for cleaning bathrooms Fiberglass, stainless, CHROME etc....I love it, and it works great!!!
Good luck, let me know if it works for you...
