Rear Drums????

I just replaced the the front pads and rotors and still noticed a shimmy while high speed braking. I determined it was coming from the rear brakes. So, I replaced the rear drums and the shimmy stopped amost completely. The slight shimmy left must be coming from the actual shoes, since I didn't replace them but the old drums were pretty oblong. I'm wondering if overtime the old shoes will wear correctly into the new drums with no shimmy or shudder or do I need to replace the shoes also? I wondered if I could damage the new drums without replacing the old shoes, they look like they had plenty of life left. I would guess over time the shoes would start wearing correctly since shoes are softer then the steel in the drums. Anyways any insight would be helpful.

Thanks in advance...

Since the shoes themselves don't spin there's no reason for them cause a "shimmy", however some shops can "re-arc" the shoes (by grinding them) to match the diameter of the drum.

You can warp drums. Your best bet it to get them turned.

I had some rear drum warpage, the back of the truck would bounce up and down quickly while braking.,,,,98
