KYFordFreak-

I got my stuff from Sears. They have the polishing bars and buffer pads. I think they are in 3" and 6" buffing wheels. Works for me on my 90 Kaw, ZX750R bike wheels and M'Ladies case covers and front forks on her 85 Honda CB650SC Nighthawk, & other items. I've used just about every polishing compound out there, and I LOVE this stuff call Cycle Care. To my knowledge it can be had on line only, or go to a bike show like the Honda Hoot. When I get home I'll look up the addie.

I am not for sure I understand you correctly. Are you saying Sears has a buffing bars and pads but the Wenol can only be had online? If you are talking about a bar of polishing compound I would love to try that too, if you can give me a name on it. Let me know, I will be close to Sears tomorrow and could stop in.

One more time, I hope. hehehe *S* BTW thanks again for the rear gear oil, working great so far, just towed 1,700lbs to Daytona and back without a problem.

Okay, Sears does have polishing bars (brand name unknown), & buffing wheels. (inside the stores in the tools area, ask the sales person where to find)

The stuff I use to keep the shine (once I have the shine) is called Cycle Care. That stuff is on-line only or at a bike show like the Honda Hoot.

E-mail me at motorcyclist@hotmail.com if we need to talk more? I'm at work right now, and do not have the CycleCare in front of me for the addie right now. (I just called my lady @ home, on the PC right now. *L* I'll up-date this post W/the addie one way or another. Here the addie: http://www.cyclecare.com/

97 F150 V6 5 speed 3.55 rearend

Good to hear the gear oil is working for you. I changed mine over to Amsoil about 3 days after I talked to you, except I still have something weird going on with my engine or transmission.
I am a cleaning/detail fanatic, so I will probably buy the stuff you just showed me and will try the Wenol too. I love the way aluminum rims look when clean but the work to get them there and keep them up is a nightmare. I swear I will buy a chrome rim or a painted rim or possibly a clearcoated rim. You wouldn't happen to know of a place in Lexington that clear coats rims would ya.

I love the cyclecare product. I like it better then Mothers, and X-treem. (you can find it at Trail Blazers on New Circle Rd, and I have ordered it from the Harley shop in Eastland) Now X-treem is better at getting out water/salt spots then cyclecare on raw aluminum. ( I try real hard not to let it get that far, but sometimes it can't be helped) Cyclecare is just like a car wax, but for aluminum. Wipe it on (don't let it get to dark/black), let it dry, wipe it off, the more you wipe the shiner it gets. One more thing- make sure you get the liquid bottle, not the can. I think it #5, also their other probucts are great too.

You can try Troyboy's in Harrodsburg, Ky (606-734-4843, very old # area code may have changed). He powdercoats, he use to poilish. Not real sure if he has clearcoat or not for wheels. Worth a try any way.

Took you advice and stopped at Sears today. I was just about to give up the hunt when I found the puffing wheels (I hate asking, they never know what your talking about). I bought a 3in 1/4 shank 40ply muslin wheel ( part#964943) with a small bar of the white and a 4oz bar of brown all-purpose brown (part#92865). I will try as soon as the weather clears up, if it works well I will go back and buy more.
My buddy is always up to running somewhere on the weekends so I might talk him into taking me down to Trialblazers for the cycle Care stuff.
You said the X-treem is really good for water/salt spots. Then that's what I really need. I have tried rubbing my hands raw with Mother's and Eagle one polish. Come to think of it I got a bottle of liquid wheel polish from Trailblazer's, I'll have to look for it tomorrow. It's not in a black bottle with like red or yellow writing is it?

Man I sorry.

CycleCare is on site only or a bike show. (that site above) Not at Trail blazers.

Now the X-treem is at Trail Blazers (so I was told) or I have ordered it from the Harley shop in Eastland. (the X-treem is just a polish not a wax, they do have the sealer, but it is extra though and not really worth it, doesn't last very long)

Sorry for the mix up.

I guess I'll have to give more details next time.

I hope this helps more.

As soon as I can get a go picture scanned, I'll show the wheels on my Bike.

It's not your fault, I probably just didn't read it right. The old lady says I never listen right, so I probably do not read correctly either. I fully understand now, Cycle Crea only online or Bike Shows. X-treem is from TrailBlazers and I think I have some of that around here somewhere.

You know, I think you have the sealer. (A bottle) You need the can. It is just like the Eagle-one (steelwool like, but a whole lot better).

Make sure you use gloves. That ***** is hard to get off your hands. I use cloth or play-tex. I take them off when I'm cleaning the stuff off and turn my diapers over a lot. My lady knows of a place here that sell used diapers real CHEAP. All I use.

I think I have one more post and I'll have 100.

I finally found it and you were right

I was looking for some old cleaning supplies and found it. To be exact it says X-treem Metal Magic chrome/clearcoat polish and metal sealer on the bottle (not a can). I used it on my OE clearcoat rims and it really made them shine and let the brake dust wipe right off. Now that I have the polished alum. wheels I have been trying out other things to see what works the best.

That's the stuff alright. Now try cyclecare (in the bottle) I think you will like it even more so. It last longing and shines better.

My 2cent

It's been about 7 mouths from the last time I polished my wheels, even with them getting rained on at Daytona at Bike Week. Salt you know in the rain, I guess. It pitted my ladies engine parts, but was polished right off. We were very lucky though, I as able to wipe the rain off once it stopped raining. (It sat over night and rain that morning a little while) No polish I have used stops pitting on engine parts, but have them clearcoated.
