Question Bigger tires on stock rims

I have an '01 Supercrew 4x4 with the stock 17" rims. I want to go from 265's to 285's but still keep the stock rims. If anyone knows of tires that will fit, let me know, and send a picture if you have one. I also want to know if the change in tire size will affect the performance of the 5.4, and if so, how to fix it.

I have the 285's on the stock 16 in rims that are 7 in wide. I think your 17s are 7.5(?or 6.5 and 7). Either way the 285's shouls fit no problem. As far as power loss I didn't notice that much of a loss before but now I have a superchip and it is better than original...

I'm going to get a set of the Pro Comp Mud's for summer. I haven't decided on wheels yet, either 16 or 17 inch rims? Or width? How much of a change in gas millage is there wiht going to a 33 inch tire?
