Question Brake Pedal Sits too High on my '94 F-150! Brake Rod?

Hey all...

I just bought my first truck, a '94 F-150 XLT standard cab. She's a beaut, but I'm a long feller at 6'4", and that brake pedal sits way too high. I have to lift my whole leg off the accelerator to hit the brake, and I'm afraid that if I need to jam it quick in an emergency, it'll take too long or my size 15 sneakers might get caught up.

The pedal sits about 2-3" above the gas. Is there a way I could just lengthen the brake rod or adjust it to fix this? Maybe replace it with a different size?About 2" or so is all I need for it to be just perfect. Thanks in advance!

It can be done, but would prob. be a custom thing. Not many average garages are gonna tackle it. My best recomendation would be to check into a race car chassis shop, where custom fabrication is commom.

freaknoa,
I share the same thoughts as you. I am thinking of buying a brake pedal assembly and fabricating an assembly that will lower it 2-3" and move it closer to the gas pedal.
