Question Anyone had problems with their ABS on the 2001's?

I have a 2001 F-150 XLT Supercrew 4X4 and I am thinking I have an ABS problem. I have noticed a surge in the brakes when stopping at a normal decel rate, kinda like a warped rotor. I had the brakes checked and had the front rotors turned and pads replaced, the rears were in good shape and no warping. By the way the truck has 56K on it. Today I had to perform the dreaded panic stop on level surface, 60+ degrees, sunny, i.e. great driving conditions. The pedal was firm but the tires locked up all the way around. No accident but man was I shook up as I was under the impression that ABS kept the tires from locking up??? Any input on this?

Paul

my input, try it in an empty parking lot once more, then take it in and explain what happened and see what they come up with
