Tires for 17" Wheels
I would like some suggestions for a good tire for my 1998 STX (275/60/R17). My stock Goodyears are about worn out. Nearly all of my driving is on the highway, an occasional gravel road, and only three or four days of snow a year here in North Arkansas. Right now I'm looking at the BFGoodrich Radial Long Trail T/A at www.TireRack.com. I've checked around at the local tire stores and TireRack seems to beat their prices by a very large amount on all the different tires. Does anyone have any experience with the Long Trail T/A, or have suggestions for a better tire?
Also is there a better place on the net to buy tires than www.TireRack.com?
Thanks

You can try www.discounttiredirect.com
I like the Falken Ziex S/TZ01. Tread rating is 420 A A. Good looking tires with good ratings for only $106.00 each.

The story I've heard on the Long Trails is they will give you great mileage and last a long time. The only beef I've heard is they stink in the snow, but it doesn't sound like thats a big deal to you. Good Luck!
Thanks Chipper, although you really weren't trying to help me
You did indirectly. Those Falkens look like an excellent tire, especially for the money!
I'm in the same boat, looking for STX tire replacements(275/60's) Figured I ought to pick them out beforehand, given the abnormal size. Every shop has 235's and 255's, but you never see a 275/60 in stock. Except maybe at Discount Tire
