Question Clicking brakes

I have a strange brake sound with my 87 F150 with 70000 miles. When applying the brake for the first time going forward or reverse, I'll hear a loud click in the front end. Continuing in the same direction and applying the brake again, there is no click sound, things are good. Reversing direction and then applying the brake the first time in that direction and I'll hear the click. Any suggestions would be appreciated.....

Cool

I had the exact same trouble on my 98, believe it or not. It drove me nuts for months before I got it fixed It turned out to be the brake caliper bracket bolts were loose(where they bolt onto the spindle) I had a shop torque the bolts tighter and the click stopped. The only other thing I can think of it being is the A-arm bushings wearing out. It works back and forth but only on the first braking in either direction. I would think it would rattle all the time if that was the case, though. Good luck,,,,98

I took it in for new pads and I'm sure they'll resurface the rotors too. Hope this fixes it.
