Different lugs for a STX/ OffRoad Pkg. wheels?
I'm about to buy a set of 17" STX wheels(sawblade) used from the original owner. I am wondering if they require changing lugs, or different lug nuts to swap them out. Just thinking they may have a thicker mounting surface than my 6 spoke 16"s. Don't worry, I am going to get the American racing rims, just not for another year or so. These wheel wells must be filled, now
Help out if you can,,,,,98
One more question, anyone know if another factory cap will fit on these wheels? I like the design, but those center caps look like a blob of chrome
I was thinking maybe the 99 chrome simulated lug nut caps would fit?

98screamer,
About two years ago I made the swap you're talking about. To my knowledge there's no difference in the lugnuts, at least I hope there's not, 'cause I kept my originals. And the center cap that goes with the 17" ORP wheel is unique, I believe; I say that because when I first got my 17" rims, they didn't come with caps and I tried to use the caps off of the factory 16"s like you have, and they really wouldn't fit. Bolt pattern is the same, but the cutout in the center of each rim is a different size. I went ahead and picked up a set of the correct caps for the ORP's. I actually like them better, but that's just me.
While I've got you "on the line", I have a favor to ask you. If I remember correctly, I've seen some 'fabricated' photos of your truck with different rims, bumpers, etc. that I'm assuming you made on a photoshop program of some kind. Am I correct? The reason I'm asking is that I'd really like to see what my truck would look like with Lightning wheels, painted Prairie Tan to match my two-tone paint (and assuming I had 275/55R18 Michelins), AND bumpers painted the same color (like STX/Sport models, with monochrome treatments). If I sent you a profile shot of my truck, could you create this picture? I would really owe you one if you could. This is my dream setup, assuming I can EVER afford to do it. Please let me know if you could indulge me so I'll have all the more reason to go in debt. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks a BUNCH!!!

Yeah, I could do that for you. If you could supply a side view of an L showing the wheels head on(no angle) it would be a great help. That's really the hardest part of doing one of those pics. It might not be that perfect of a pic, it's fairly difficult to get the shading right on curved pieces. I'll do my best to get one fixed up for you.,,,,,98
