Piston completely came out of caliper

Very new to this. Long story short the piston completely came out of my caliper. I got it back in and the boot around it but I cannot get it to depress. I have a brake tool but it will not budge. The vehicle says it’s in maintenance mode but it seems like the ebs is out and that’s what is stopping it. Before I put the piston back in whatever is right there I was able to spin and spun it down all the way. Should I have not done that? What do I do?

If you can get into the actuator, use a T40 bit and spin it clockwise
until it stops. Then gently push the piston inward and watch the rubber boot.
