2008 F150 ABS + Brake Light+ soft pedal

I have a 2008 f150 that has the ABS light on, the brake light on and has a soft pedal. Cruise is working and will go in 4 low. Fluid is full and i cant see any leaks. Lights came on while i was driving.

Any ideas? Cant get it into the shop for a week so hoping if i can figure out something before then.

Thanks in advance.

It's going to have to go into the shop unless you have a scanner or computer that can read ABS codes.

It might be a vacuum booster leak and you may end up getting more codes.

Yes, like glc said, you will need a scanner that reads ABS codes first.

Hopefully it isn't the ABS pump/control module.

I forgot to post this initially, it was throwing a B1342 code.

I picked up a used control module/pump assembly last night. Swapped the control module and light was out initially. Drove it down the road a few blocks and pedal was still soft and lights came back on. Going to swap the pump assembly tonight.

It sounds like you have air trapped in one or more brake lines. Take it to a brake shop and have them flush the brake system or buy one of the power brake bleeding kits from Summit or one of those places and do it yourself. The ABS error is probably a different problem.

I couldn't find anything that is authoritative for the b1342 code but both of these sites <https://www.fixya.com/cars/t18950711-rsc_abs_light> and <https://www.justanswer.com/ford/9x0b3-getting-b1342-faulty-control-module-code-2009.html> say that it could be a wiring problem and very likely at the connection to one of the wheel sensors. I would start by carefully checking the wiring at all four wheels and working all of the way back to ABS controller if necessary. If you don't find before then, then start at the ABS controller and check all of it's power and ground wires.
